L to R: Board Chair Dr. Robert Roe, CEO Lisa Deal, former CEO Dwight Wilson, and Past Chair Dr. Stephen Weller

Lisa is passionate and deeply knowledgeable about hospice care, local and national issues, and the importance of nonprofit care. With her guidance, Mission Hospice has provided end-of-life care and education for thousands of people at a level unequalled by any other organization in this region.

“Our courage to be present through the dying process – some of life’s most tender moments – is the biggest gift we can give to those we serve,” shared Lisa. “I’m proud to be part of an organization that focuses first on the needs of patients and families. And I’m excited about the opportunities we have to partner with other groups that share our commitment to preserving nonprofit, community-based and mission-driven care.”

At the event, the Board of Directors also honored Dwight Wilson, former CEO, for his decade of service. Dwight provided guidance for Mission Hospice during a time of tremendous growth. Under his leadership, we opened San Mateo County’s first hospice houses, added Palliative Care, and expanded our grief support and educational programs. The Board is grateful to Dwight for his untiring effort and inspiration, and the entire Mission Hospice family wishes him continued success in his new role as President and CEO of Central Coast Community Health Care (VNA & Hospice).
